2025 EUPHRADIAN FOUNDATION Essay Contest and Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a rising college freshman.

  • Submit a 1000-word essay (in response to the prompt provided).

  • Submit both certifications (found below).

Prompt:

In a 1000-word essay, using proper conventions of style and composition, answer the following prompt. While no external sources are required besides your own experience and insights, you may draw upon such sources as you deem fit in supporting your viewpoint. 

Prompt: What role does civility have in political society and in serving the common good? 

Successful essays are judged according to strength of argumentation and reasoning, clarity of thought, structure, and composition/style. Excellent essays may vary widely in their viewpoints, so the judges encourage sincerity and boldness in answering the prompt.

Please submit your completed essay, along with the certifications below, by email to euphradian@gmail.com with the subject line “2025 Essay Scholarship” no later than September 1. The winner will be notified by email by October 1.

Certification of Award Use
